Let’s start with the bad one: as you might have guessed, Procedural Activity is no more.
It was a fun time, we did get to work on projects we liked, and it definitely was the right thing to do for us at the time. Even though we were far from being able to make a living out of it, it opened a lot of doors for us. But now we’re all in a position where we really can’t keep Procedural Activity going. So it’s officially over, as is Souls TLM. We just can’t/don’t have the time/motivation anymore to continue working on it. Sorry.
Now the good news!
We’re still making games ;) Each of us in a different way, with different people, but making games because that’s what we want and like to do!
Carduus is now working at Motion Twin, Valandre is at Shiro Games, and Thorvald is on his own, as is 01101101. If you want to contact us, see this http://proceduralactivity.com/blog/about-us/
Here we are! We just released the Alpha 2 version of Souls, and opened up a few slots for you to test the game.
We didn’t post about the Alpha 1 since we wanted to test it with a very limited number of users, but it’s been online for 2 weeks now. (We didn’t post about anything else either for that matter, as we had – and still have – a lot of work left ^^)
But today we reached the second milestone on our roadmap, and we start working on the next: Beta 1.
If you don’t have an account already, you can create one and try the game right now :)
Even if there is a lot of new stuff in this Alpha 2, it’s still an alpha, and a lot of the gameplay mechanics are not yet implemented.
But you can explore worlds, collect blocks and items, customize your own world, sell and buy stuff in the Shop…
And if you’re that kind of a tester, you can help us by dropping by the forum and reporting any bug you might find, letting us know about what you think of the game so far etc.
Feedback is always appreciated! :D
Also we would like to thank our first testers, who were there literally minutes after the release of Alpha 1… ;) Thanks guys for your help and support!
Remember this article presenting our participations in the latest Ludum Dare?
Well the rating period is over, the results came in this morning, and we did quite good ;)
Thorvald, with The Traveler, got the 237th position in the global compo ranking (over 1000 participants), while Valandre got the 280th with Hamster Damn.
Thorvald also got the 14th position in the Theme category.
In the Jam ranking, Exposed (by Carduus, 01101101 and Mathieu) got the 20th position in over 300 participants. Carduus also got the Gold medal for Graphics, and Mathieu the Bronze medal for Audio. The game got good rakings in the Humor and Mood categories too.
We’re pretty happy with our games and, as usual, we’re looking forward to the next LD!
Also, we’d like to congratulate our friends from Motion Twin, Deepnight, Ben and Warp, who – again – ruled the LD with 2nd, 3rd and 134th positions in the compo ranking! :)
And congratulations as well to our other friends, the Dr.Pingu team, who got the 42nd position for their first jam!
Yes, music again!
We couldn’t wait to let you listen to what Mathieu is working on for Souls TLM…
So, here is the theme for the Air element, enjoy! :)
And to be even more in the mood of the game while you listen to this, check out the new screenshots below…
The whole team is working on the game and we’re planning an alpha really soon, so stay tuned! ;)
A week ago ended the 23rd edition of Ludum Dare, one of the biggest international game creation event.
The goal is to make a game from scratch on your own in 48 hours, or with teammates in 72 hours.
This time the theme was “Tiny world”.
This time we were all participating: Thorvald and Valandre made one game each, and Carduus, Mathieu and I made one together.
The results are here:
We’re pretty happy with the games we came up with, and we may continue working on them, maybe porting them to mobile or something. We’ll see! :)
Like last time, in December, we were invited to come over at Motion-Twin‘s place to do the Ludum Dare together.
We’d like to thank them again, and please try their games too, you would really miss something if you didn’t:
Since the release of Souls TCG on iOS and Android, we got a few reviews. All of them are quite nice, the most recurring criticism being the absence of music* and multiplayer.
We announced it wednesday on the Twitters, Facebooks and other Googles, but somehow I forgot to post about it here…
So you probably already know it, but we made a trailer for Souls TCG! Once again, Mathieu was kind enough to make music for it, so thank you Mat! :D
We also made a dedicated webpage for the game. The Souls TCG thumbnail in the banner now links to it.
And in related news, Mathieu made sounds and music for the game itself. Many of you asked for it, so it’s being integrated right now, and an update will follow in the stores.
Have a good day! :)
The whole team is proud to annonce the official release of Souls TCG on the AppStore and Google Play!
It’s our first released game as Procedural Activity, and we hope that you are going to love it ;)
Some of you already guessed: yes, Souls TCG takes the gameplay basics of Triple Triad (from Final Fantasy VIII) and adds a few original variations and a rich bestiary with nice graphics… Capture your opponent’s cards by choosing yours wisely and explore Souls’ world through three different game modes!
If you like it, don’t hesitate to spread the word, leave comments and stars on the stores, share, tweet, anything! ;)
And, by the way, a big thank you to everyone who tested and gave us their feedbacks on this game to help us make it better! Stay connected as a new update is on the way ;)
As you know, we are also working on The Lost Memories, so you players of Souls TCG can expect advantages and exclusive content when it’s out! Just saying… ;)
Also, screenshots!
